International Solidarity: An interconnected struggle for our collective liberation against the exploitative forces that have survived centuries of revolutions and transformations. From feudal lords and divine rulers, to the capitalist billionaires of today, power has often remained on the side of the exploiter throughout our collective history. Only when the exploited cast aside their differences are they able to amass forces strong enough to resist their oppressors.
A great example of this we can see with the Industrial Workers of the World (IWW) Local 8 Union from Philadelphia. Their multiracial, multiethnic workforce was able to become one of the most durable IWW branches of the 1910's. Unfortunately, one union branch alone cannot overcome the capitalist system, and thus the Local 8 was defeated.
Only through an international and unified front can we make the systemic changes needed to move towards the end of exploitation.
Labor Power: Our labor is one of the main sources from where we are exploited, thus labor should be the means through which we regain our power. We don't need to request these corporations and politicians for better wages. We have the power to take back our fair share of the work we produce. Without our labor, there are no profits. Without our labor, there is no food. Without our labor, the world stops. Workers of the world have all the power in their hands, should they choose to wield it.
Communication & Consent: Though often relating to sex, general consent is vital for a healthy society in general. Whether we are sharing items, space, or time, it is beneficial to maintain communication with one another to make sure that conflict is avoided or resolved. Through addressing our concerns and opinions, we can also more effectively utilize our unique perspectives and knowledge in order to achieve a fair balance of our shared world.
Transformative Justice: Conflict resolution is important for how we interact with not only our comrades, but society in general. We must approach each case of conflict from a place of love and with nuance for the bettermet of the society we would like to achieve. Instead of casting out or avoiding those we disagree with, we must take the time and energy to understand one another through productive conversations if it is safe to do so.
